Sumera Khan - A Rose By Any Other Name

Oil on Gallery Depth Wood Panel

The title says it all. The whimsical teapot is one of my favourite companions in my art studio. I often paint it, or versions of it. This time, it called for a pairing with the flowers. On a deeper level, this piece speaks about looking at someone beyond the labels and appearance and instead reflecting upon the possibilities and the beauty within. As Juliet said to Romeo, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet (Romeo & Juliet).
