Collection: Lisa Leskien

Lisa Leskien is a resident of the tranquil landscapes north of Katarokwi/Kingston, Ontario. She strives to infuse the world with joy, and hope through her brightly-coloured, whimsical paintings.
After nurturing the imaginations of young minds for nearly two decades as an elementary classroom teacher, Lisa embarked on a soul-stirring return to her creative roots. Armed with a BFA and a Bachelor of Education, her artistic expression is deeply rooted in both formal training and lived experience. Lisa is a past Tett Centre for Creativity Studio Artist Resident, she was awarded 3rd prize in the Hamilton Plein Air Competition in 2024 and she won first prize in the Quinte Plein Air Competition in 2024. Lisa is a proud member of the Hive artist collective in Bath, Ontario. Lisa's paintings serve as snapshots of the everyday magic that surrounds us. From documenting the sunlight dancing on the leaves of trees along a trail, to the scene of a colourful hat display outside a small shop, to capturing the inquisitive gaze of one of her backyard chickens, each canvas is a celebration of life's fleeting moments, rendered in vibrant hues and playful compositions.
