I am a self-taught painter currently living and working in Napanee. I believe that my artistic practice is an ongoing journey. There is something to be learned in every aspect of the creative process; from building and stretching canvases, to the place where my artwork is made. Born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, I moved to Toronto as an adult to be a part of a larger arts community. After more than a decade in Toronto, I began to realize that I was using every opportunity to leave the city and head into the country. In the Spring of 2024, after visiting many times, my partner and I relocated to Napanee, the town where she grew up. I quickly found that country air and rural landscapes suited my creative needs far more than the city ever had. Since coming to this area I've spent most of my time seeking out inspiration in the wild places and farmland around Kingston, Lennox & Addington, Frontenac and Prince Edward counties.
