Aarti is a Calgary based artist and works mainly in acrylics. Her work can be described as mix between contemporary impressionism and expressionism. As a self-taught artist, studying the work of timeless masters and contemporary artists alike, has helped her develop her unique style which focuses on the expression of light and colour. Although she dabbles on various subjects, Canadian landscapes and flowers are her main choice of interests. Daily painting challenges her to explore and hone her skills. Her focus has always been on capturing the play of light and to emphasize the brilliance of colours in her subject, whatever it is.
